WALESKA, Ga.— According to the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released by the league office Thursday afternoon, the Montreat College Cavaliers are anticipated to repeat last year's ninth-place conference showing.
Overall, the Cavs racked up a 9-12 (9-11 AAC) record during the 2024 campaign. With its regular season showing, Montreat secured the No. 9 seed in the WinWon AAC Women's Volleyball Tournament. The Cavaliers were ultimately bounced in the first round by Truett McConnell University.
In total, Montreat captured 72 points in the voting process, three more than Tennessee Wesleyan University and Bryan College, both of whom tied for 10
th in the preseason poll. Reinhardt University tallied eight first-place votes and 190 points en route to being named the league's preseason favorite.
The 2025 AAC Women's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll was voted on by the head coaches of each institution in the league. Teams received 14 points for a first-place vote, 13 for second place, 12 for third place and so on until all 14 teams were ranked. Programs were then ordered by most points received to least points received.
Montreat aims to make the conference tournament field for the third consecutive year as one of the top 10 teams in the league's regular season standings. The AAC Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 13-15 at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort and Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
