GILBERT, Ariz.— The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its final NAIA Women's Singles Rankings on Thursday, and
Chiharu Ito landed inside the organization's top 50 for the sixth straight instance. With the final rankings of the 2024-25 academic year, Ito capped off her freshman campaign at No. 48 overall.
During the 2025 spring season, Ito went 10-5 in singles play. The freshman maintained an 8-3 record on the top court and a 2-2 record when competing on the No. 2 court. Of Ito's 10 triumphs, seven came during Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matches. Her other three victories occurred against NCAA Division I and II foes.
Two of Ito's singles contests never reached their conclusion, including her AAC Tournament clash versus Milligan University. Ito led 6-0, 2-4 on the first court when the Buffaloes secured the team win, leaving her match unfinished.

Ito and the Montreat women's tennis team concluded their 2025 spring season with a 4-13 record overall and a 4-5 record in AAC play.
