Men’s tennis, women’s tennis share 2026 spring schedules

MONTREAT, N.C.— The Montreat College men's and women's tennis teams announced their 2026 spring schedules earlier this month. While both squads had the chance to compete a handful of times last fall, they now turn their attention to the main portion of their competition slates. For the men, they anticipate participating on 17 different dates. The women are lined up to play on 18 separate dates this spring.

Both teams resume their seasons in February, with the men kicking things off at North Carolina A&T State University on the 6th. Meanwhile, the women join the men just one week later on Feb. 13 at Carson-Newman University.

On the women's side, Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play begins on Feb. 17 as the Cavaliers head to Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga. Two days later, the men start conference play with both squads taking on top-five ranked Tennessee Wesleyan University programs. The Cavs then open their spring home slate on Feb. 20 against Truett McConnell University.

For six consecutive dates, the Montreat men's and women's tennis schedules align. That stretch includes the Grizzly Invitational, hosted by Georgia Gwinnett College, in late February, as well as a home date versus Tusculum University on Feb. 23.

The schedules diverge once more in mid-March when the women's program takes its turn playing against NC A&T. From there, the Cavaliers' final eight regular season dates line up. Seven of those eight events occur on Montreat's home court. Between March 19 and April 18, the Cavs play host to the University of Pikeville, Freed-Hardeman University, Milligan University, SCAD Atlanta, Columbia College, Mars Hill University and Methodist University. The lone road matchup during the extended home stretch features a trip to Guilford College on April 1.

With quality play during conference matches, the Montreat College men's and women's tennis programs aim to join the 16 teams—eight men and eight women—that qualify for the AAC Tournament. This year's postseason brackets are currently scheduled for April 20-22 at Champions Club Tennis Complex in Chattanooga, Tenn.
