MONTREAT, N.C.— Head coach
Hub Powell and the Montreat clay target shooting team unveiled the latter half of their 2024-25 season schedule earlier this month. Among the five competitions on the docket this spring, the Cavaliers will compete in both local and national events with numerous titles up for grabs.
Montreat spends Feb. 7-9 down in Savannah, Ga. at the Forest City Gun Club for its initial competition of 2025. There, the Cavs battle other collegiate programs in the Lower East Coast Conference Championships. The Cavaliers follow that meet with a head-to-head battle against Bryan College later in the month.
Heading to San Antonio, Texas from March 16 through March 22, Montreat takes its shot at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships. Last year, the Cavs placed fifth out of 29 programs in the event.
The Cavaliers remain in the region for their final two meets of 2024-25. On April 26, they return to the same place where their season began: the Unaka Rod & Gun Club in Johnson City, Tenn. Just one week later, Montreat concludes its campaign with the North Carolina Hall of Fame Shoot in Bostic, N.C.
