MONTREAT, N.C.— Earlier this month, the Montreat College clay target shooting team revealed the fall portion of its upcoming 2025-26 competition schedule. During the autumn slate, the Cavaliers compete across four different states, including twice in both Tennessee and North Carolina.
The schedule opens on Aug. 23 via a trip to Johnson City, Tenn. With everyone shooting qualifying targets, the Cavs plan to kick things off with 50 trap and 50 skeet at Unaka Rod & Gun Club.
As the calendar flips to September, Montreat hosts an internal qualifier at the Biltmore Sporting Clays Club. That qualifier will set the team up for a journey late in the month to the NWTF Palmetto Shooting Complex in Edgefield, S.C.
Like September, October also features two competition dates. The first lands on Oct. 11 when the Cavaliers swing through Bostic, N.C. for the Dixie Grand at the North Carolina Homegrounds. Just two weeks later, Montreat returns to the Unaka Rod & Gun Club in Johnson City.
The Cavs take their longest road trip of the fall in November. From Nov. 7-9, Montreat competes down in Jacksonville, Fla. at the ACUI Lower East Coast Conference Championships. With a strong showing in the Sunshine State, the Cavaliers hope to enter the winter break on a high note.
