As a team, Montreat secured the Division III Super Sporting national championship, as well as bronze in the Division III Doubles Trap. Overall, the Cavs finished seventh of 59 Division III squads at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships.
"Although we didn't hit the High Over All podium, the team battled difficult, windy conditions to bring home two individual ladies' national championships and one team national championship, along with a third-place discipline finish," said head coach
Hub Powell. "We did well in some areas and learned what we need to work on in others. I am looking forward to an HOA national podium finish next year and am ready to get back to work."
With the national championships in the rearview mirror, the Montreat clay target shooting team looks forward to a pair of regional events in April and May to close out the 2024-25 campaign.
