CORBIN, Ky. — The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) released its Women's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll on Thursday morning, with the Cavaliers projected to finish seventh during the 2026-27 season.

Montreat received 27 points in the voting process, tying Reinhardt University for seventh place. The Cavs finished 10 points ahead of Bryan College and one point behind Spartanburg Methodist College. The University of Pikeville and Truett McConnell University tied for the top spot with 65 points apiece. Pikeville earned four first-place votes, while Truett McConnell received two.

The Cavaliers are coming off a season in which they concluded eighth at the AAC Fall Preview and seventh at the AAC Direct Qualifier, which marked the program's best team finish at the spring championship since 2021.

Head coaches of institutions within the league voted on the 2026-27 AAC Women's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll. Teams received 10 points for a first-place vote, nine for second place, eight for third place and so on until all 10 teams were ranked. Programs were then ordered by most points received to least points received.

After competing at the AAC Fall Preview on Oct. 19-20, the Montreat College women's golf squad looks to place higher than expected at the AAC Direct Qualifier on May 3-5. The former event is hosted at the Old Union Golf Course in Blairsville, Ga., while the latter tournament takes place at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Ga.
