BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — The Montreat College women's golf team competed on Monday and Tuesday at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Fall Preview at Old Union Golf Course in Blairsville, Ga. The Cavaliers were represented by two golfers in the 54-hole tournament.

Sara Rothrock led Montreat, tying for 39th out of 46 competitors. The Rutherfordton, N.C. native opened with a 104 in the first round before carding a 103 in the second to finish Monday with a 36-hole score of 207. The junior improved to an 88 in the final round, bringing her tournament total to 295. Rothrock recorded 12 pars over the three rounds.

Olivia Merrell placed alongside Rothrock on the leaderboard, ending 43rd. The Canton, N.C. native posted a 103 in her opening round, and she followed with a 106 before closing the tournament with a 104 for a final score of 313. Merrell recorded one birdie and eight pars during the competition.

With the autumn slate complete, the Montreat College women's golf team now turns its attention toward preparing for the spring portion of its 2026-27 schedule.
