ACWORTH, Ga. — The Montreat College women's golf team closed out its 2025-26 season at the AAC Direct Qualifier, which was held Monday through Wednesday at Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Ga. Overall, the Cavaliers delivered a score of 1,144, good for seventh in the competitive 11-team field. The placement marked the Cavs' best finish at the AAC Direct Qualifier since 2021.
Montreat navigated three rounds of 18 holes within a 53-player field, led by Reese Coltrane, who tied for 21st (250). Abbey Coyle followed in a share of 35th (293), while Sara Rothrock placed 40th (300). Chloe Peters completed her tournament in 41st (301), and Hannah Stewart finished just behind her teammate in 42nd (318).
Following the opening round, Coltrane set the tone for the Cavaliers with an 85, recording nine pars to sit 13-over through 18 holes. Peters added a 100, tallying four pars. Rothrock and Coyle each turned in rounds of 101, collecting five and three pars, respectively.
During the second round, Coltrane improved with an 83, notching eight pars across 18 holes and adding a birdie on hole nine to remain in front for Montreat. Rothrock moved up the leaderboard as well, posting a 94 to cut seven strokes from her first score while finishing with two pars. Coyle progressed with a 98, recording four pars. Peters wrapped up the lineup with a 100, adding two pars.
Coltrane again led the Cavs on day three, carding an 82 with eight pars while producing Montreat's only birdie. Coyle advanced up the standings in the final round, trimming four strokes from her previous effort to post a 94 with seven pars. Peters recorded a 101 with two pars, while Rothrock finalized the group, finishing at 105 and tallying five pars.

With the seventh-place finish, Montreat closed the 2025-26 campaign by matching its best team result at the AAC Direct Qualifier since 2021. The Cavaliers now shift their attention toward preparations for the 2026-27 season.
