Repasky ends women’s wrestling season at nationals

PARK CITY, Kan.— Morgan Repasky represented the Montreat women's wrestling team on Friday at the NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships in Park City, Kan. Competing against the nation's best, Repasky ultimately went 0-2 against a pair of ranked foes, bringing her individual season record to 19-14.

Wrestling in the 103-lb weight class, Repasky began her tournament by battling the bracket's No. 2 seed. The Marion, N.C. native made it to the second round before eventually being pinned in 3:18.

Following a first round bye in the consolation bracket, Repasky stepped back onto the mat for a bout versus the NAIA's 14th-ranked wrestler. Despite a valiant effort, Repasky lost via pin in 2:24. With the two defeats, Repasky's freshman year came to a close.

"I am very proud of the season Morgan and our entire women's program put together," said head coach Koby Reyes. "The experience from this weekend is invaluable for the future of our program, and we are grateful for the opportunity to glorify God through this amazing sport."
