MONTREAT, N.C.— In preparation for the 2022 seasons, the Montreat men's and women's tennis teams unveiled their spring schedules, facing a variety of tough competition along the way in hopes of returning to the NAIA National Tournament at the conclusion of the year.
 
The women begin their season with an indoor national tournament from Jan. 23 through Jan. 26, and the men face UNC-Asheville on the 26^th, prior to both teams competing at a tournament hosted by Georgia Gwinnett College from Feb. 11 to Feb. 13.
 
The Cavs open their non-tournament schedule with the reigning men's and women's national champions, Georgia Gwinnett, on the road on Feb. 18. After a matchup with the top team in the country, Montreat kicks off Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play at Johnson-Tennessee the following Wednesday before colliding with GGC in Lawrenceville, Ga. again on Mar. 3. In a final non-conference match, the men's team faces NCAA Division I, Presbyterian College, while the women plan to battle a different NCAA DI opponent to be announced at a later date, on Mar. 6.
 
Returning to conference action after a challenging non-conference slate, the Cavaliers face Reinhardt University on the road on Mar. 8. The Cavs host a team for the first time in 2022 when Point comes to Montreat on Mar. 12, starting a string of three consecutive home matches for the Cavaliers. Montreat takes on SCAD-Savannah and Union to finish the homestand before playing at Tennessee Wesleyan on Mar. 31.
 
The final month of the regular season features early home contests, with both teams facing Milligan on the 1^st and SCAD-Atlanta on the 3^rd. The women conclude their regular season with a road trip to Brenau on Apr. 4.
 
The women's team will look to defend its AAC Tournament crown as the squads enter the conference tournament set to take place in the middle of April. With solid showings, Montreat will attempt to qualify for the national tournament again and pick up their initial victories at nationals in May.
