HICKORY, N.C. — The Montreat College men's and women's track & field teams split action between the Lee University Last Chance and the LR Last Chance meets on Saturday and Sunday, delivering a strong collective showing across both venues. With five athletes entered in seven events, the Cavaliers produced two personal-best performances while several competitors wrapped up their seasons with solid efforts against deep competition.
Carlyn Bobo delivered a breakout race in the 5000m at the Lee University Last Chance meet on Saturday, posting a personal best of 18:06.47 and improving her previous time by nearly 17 seconds. The effort proved good enough for 14th in the 19-runner field.
Lydia Norman added a highlight at the LR Last Chance meet, achieving a personal best in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.49m. The showing surpassed her prior best by 0.15m and capped an impressive finish to her outdoor season.
Cameron Rice turned in a productive sprint double over the weekend, opening with a 10.89 in the 100m prelims before finishing third out of nine dashers in the final at 10.94 seconds. He also added a fourth-place finish in the 200m, crossing in 21.88.
The men's discus throw closed out competition for the Cavaliers, led by a first-place effort from William Wood, who won the event with a throw of 41.13m. Drew Bryant followed in fifth with a mark of 35.13m.

The Cavaliers now turn their focus toward the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which are set for May 20-22 in Asheville N.C.
