WALESKA, Ga. — According to a release from the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Thursday morning, five Montreat College men's golfers combined to claim six academic and character honors from the league office.
Philip Brown,
Matt Cardaropoli,
Luke Hood,
Austin Lineberger and
Alex Murphy represented the Cavaliers on this year's AAC All-Academic Team. Lineberger also garnered AAC Champions of Character Team status.
To qualify for the AAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Each institution in the league also received one spot on the AAC Champions of Character Team, and the honorees were selected by each program's head coach.

The Montreat College men's golf team wrapped up its 2025-26 competition schedule earlier this week when it concluded seventh out of 14 squads at the AAC Direct Qualifier in Adairsville, Ga. The seventh-place finish proved to be the program's best at the conference's spring championship since 2022.
