BEREA, Ky. — The Montreat College men's track & field team sent athletes to a trio of meets across three different states this week, competing at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday, the King University Invitational on Friday and Saturday and the Landon Bond Classic on Saturday. In total, the Cavaliers' 13 entries in 10 events achieved two national standards, one school record and two individual wins.
Nathan Cremin and
Ryan Stade delivered the fireworks on Thursday at the Raleigh Relays on the campus of North Carolina State University. Both Cremin and Stade raced against loaded fields featuring high-level NCAA Division I competitors. The former ran in the 1500m, while the latter participated in the 10k.
Cremin placed 76
th out of 224 finishers thanks to his time of 3:48.00. The Limerick, Ireland native's effort met the NAIA 'A' standard and came within 0.13 seconds of matching the school's 1500m record. Meanwhile, Stade concluded 45
th out of 95 finishers in the 10k. The upperclassman not only coasted to an 'A' standard time, but he also broke his own program record by 49.59 seconds. Ultimately, Stade's 29:46.86 showing proved to be the 16
th-quickest men's outdoor 10k performance in NAIA history.
Montreat placed seventh out of seven teams at the King University Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Cavs racked up 12 points across the three events in which they competed, as well as a third-place finish in each competition.
In the 800m,
Senor Glenn led a pack of four Cavaliers across the finish line. The Atlanta native wrapped up his race in 1:57.33, good for third out of 29 runners. Glenn shaved 3.51 seconds off his prior personal-best time.
Sam Duncan (16
th; 2:03.63),
Mark Blalock (23
rd; 2:06.41) and
Ethan Bishop (29
th; 2:18.28) also participated in the event.
Jordan Pippin ended third out of five athletes in the 400m hurdles, surpassing his own personal best with a 55.81-second effort. Meanwhile,
Cameron Rice concluded third out of 21 sprinters in the 100m prelims. His 10.74-second dash proved good enough to qualify for the finals, though he ultimately did not compete in the second edition of the sprint.
Drew Bryant and
William Wood represented Montreat on Saturday at the Landon Bond Classic. The duo combined for two wins and four podium finishes across five field events.
A native of Candler, N.C., Bryant claimed the long jump title with his 6.65m showing. The senior beat out a field of 18 jumpers to win the event. Bryant also finished runner-up out of eight high jump participants by clearing 1.85m.
Wood picked up a win in the discus, besting 20 other throwers thanks to his 40.48m mark. He also concluded third out of 19 gentlemen in the shot put, achieving the top outdoor distance of his career at 12.80m. Wood placed 10
th out of 19 athletes in the javelin as well, delivering a mark of 33.77m on the afternoon.

The Montreat College men's track & field team splits its squad between a pair of meets next week. On Thursday and Friday, the Cavs plan to compete at the VertKlasse Meeting in High Point, N.C. The Cavaliers also aim to contend at the Tornado Classic on Friday, April 3, in Brevard, N.C.
