WALESKA, Ga.— According to a release from the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) office on Monday afternoon, the Montreat College baseball team snagged a pair of league recognitions.
Bryton Williams was selected as the newest AAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week honoree, while
Tommy Ramos was tabbed as the latest AAC Baseball Player of the Week award winner.
The conference honors marked the first and second of Williams' and Ramos' Cavalier careers, respectively. For Montreat, they marked the program's second and third awards of the 2026 season.
Williams is coming off his first collegiate complete-game shutout on Saturday at Bluefield University. The Hudson, Fla. native grabbed his fourth win of the campaign, tossing seven scoreless frames in the 12-0 triumph. Williams surrendered just three hits and faced only two batters over the minimum. He also struck out five Rams without walking or hitting a single batter.
Ramos brought plenty of pop to the Cavs' lineup over the weekend, contributing at least one home run in all three contests at Bluefield. Overall, Ramos slashed .583/.643/1.667 with seven hits, one double and four homers. In terms of run production, the Hialeah Gardens, Fla. native registered nine RBIs and scored six times. He also drew one walk. Ramos now has over 100 hits and 100 RBIs in his Montreat career.

The Montreat College baseball team is currently riding a 16-game winning streak, the longest active streak in the NAIA. It is also believed to be the longest winning streak in program history. The Cavaliers aim to continue their victorious ways on Tuesday, March 3 at 1 p.m. when they host Johson & Wales University Charlotte for a nine-inning contest at Newell Field.
