GREENWOOD, Ind. — College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its Academic All-District® Baseball Team on Tuesday, with three Montreat College student-athletes earning recognition for their achievements in the classroom and on the diamond.
 
Justin Austin, Zachary Long and Cameron Nagel represented the Cavaliers among the 204 NAIA honorees.
 
To qualify for nomination, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Position players must also have competed in either 90 percent of an institution's games played or started in at least 66 percent of a program's contests. Meanwhile, pitchers must also have made a minimum of 17 appearances or have thrown at least 35 innings during the season.

The Montreat College baseball team concluded its 2026 campaign with a 34-21 overall record and a 14-13 mark in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play, marking its most wins in a single season during the tenure of Head Coach Jason Beck. Ultimately, the Cavs' postseason run came to an end in the AAC Tournament Semifinals.
