USTFCCCA names Cremin its South Region Men’s Track Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS— According to a release from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Montreat College's Nathan Cremin is the 2026 NAIA South Region Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. This honor marks the Cavaliers' first South Region Men's Indoor Athlete of the Year recognition since 2022.
 
Cremin holds a trio of top-10 performances in NAIA history, all of which occurred this season. The Limerick, Ireland native owns the best 1000m time after running a 2:21.36 race at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships. He also possesses the second-best 800m effort (1:48.30), and he's the sixth-best performer in the 600m (1:17.67).

Cremin will represent the Montreat College men's track & field team next week at the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Gardner-Webb University transfer will run in the 1000m and the distance medley relay from March 5-7 at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville, Fla.
