WALESKA, Ga.— For the first time in his Montreat College athletic career,
Ashe Ammerlaan received Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week status, that according to a release from the league office on Monday.
On Feb. 17, Ammerlaan carved up the Morris College Hornets for his first win of the campaign. In a 7-0 triumph, Ammerlaan hurled six shutout innings, surrendering just one hit and one walk while striking out a career-high 15 batters. The Oranjestad, Aruba native took a no-hitter into the fifth frame as he completely overmatched the Morris lineup.

Ammerlaan and the Montreat College baseball team dive back into AAC play on Friday with the start of a three-game series at Bluefield University. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Bluefield, Va.
