MILL SPRING, N.C.— The Montreat College men's track & field team made its second trip in as many weeks to Mill Spring, N.C. on Friday and Saturday, this time for the Tryon Winter Invitational. The Cavaliers totaled 22 entries over the two days of competition, producing six top-20 finishes and five personal bests.
Ryan Stade led Montreat with the top individual finish of the meet, placing fourth out of 50 runners in the one mile run. Stade posted a personal-best time of 4:18.24, lowering his previous mark by 6.27 seconds and continuing his strong start to the indoor season.
Hugo Petat-Hemono followed in the mile, finishing 10
th with a personal-best time of 4:23.15, improving by 6.15 seconds.
Elijah Eppley also recorded a personal best in the event, placing 23
rd with a 4:38.75 effort, shaving 7.46 seconds off his previous mark.
Senor Glenn made his event debut in the mile, ending 41
st with a time of 4:58.24.
Montreat also found success in the 600m on Friday, which featured 28 competitors.
Jordan Pippin led the Cavaliers with a seventh-place finish, crossing the line in 1:24.54. Glenn followed closely, placing ninth with a personal-best showing of 1:26.00.
Mark Blalock added another personal best as well, finishing 20
th in 1:28.91.
Kaden Knight made his event debut in the 600m, concluding 24
th.
In the field events,
William Wood represented Montreat in the weight throw, ending 20
th out of 46 athletes. Wood recorded a personal-best mark of 14.04m, surpassing his previous best by 1.23m.

The Cavaliers will aim to build on their early-season momentum next Friday and Saturday when they compete at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
