AUSTIN, Texas— According to a release from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday, Montreat College student-athlete Ryan Stade notched Academic All-America® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team status. That honor marked the first of Stade's career and the 12^th Academic All-America® nod in Montreat College Athletics history.
 
A native of Marysville, Kan., Stade tallied numerous athletic awards throughout the 2024-25 academic year. During the fall, Stade's performance at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Cross Country Championships garnered First Team All-AAC recognition. While an injury mostly kept him out until the outdoor track & field season, Stade picked up right where he left off. The Tabor College transfer tallied one AAC event title, three all-conference nods and the AAC Newcomer of the Year award. Stade also bagged two outdoor school records and an NAIA All-American honor at the outdoor national meet.
 
Dedicated as a student-athlete, Stade also thrived in the classroom by registering a 3.97 GPA.
 
In total, 20 NAIA student-athletes collected CSC Academic All-America® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team recognition. Nine of those 20 student-athletes secured Second Team status.
 
To be eligible for nomination, each student-athlete had to be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically, had to maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and had to place inside the top 25 of a conference event. Select honorees then advanced to the Academic All-America® ballot where CSC members from across the NAIA voted for who they deemed most deserving of the national honor.
