GREENWOOD, Ind.— According to a release from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday, five Montreat College softball student-athletes found their way onto the Academic All-District® Team.
For their excellence on the diamond and in the classroom,
Haley Fethke,
Alanna Hernandez,
Amayia Hernandez,
Dayton Kell and
Carter Thornton garnered the annual recognition. In total, 259 NAIA softball student-athletes appeared on the CSC Academic All-District® Team.
To qualify for nomination, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Position players must also have competed in either 90 percent of an institution's games played or started in at least 66 percent of a program's contests. Meanwhile, pitchers must also have made a minimum of 17 appearances or thrown at least 35 innings.

Amayia Hernandez and Kell were also selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 17.
The Montreat softball team wrapped up its historic 2025 campaign with a 33-16 (20-8 Appalachian Athletic Conference) record, as well as its first conference tournament win since 2018.
