RALEIGH, N.C.— The Montreat men's track & field team sent athletes to a pair of meets over the weekend. Between the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University on Thursday and the Gotta Run Invite at Southern Wesleyan University on Friday and Saturday, the Cavaliers' 18 entries picked up one national standard, one school record and five top-10 performances.
Ryan Stade highlighted the weekend with his effort in Raleigh, N.C. The Tabor College transfer finished the 5000m in 152
nd out of 233 runners, most of which were NCAA Division I athletes. Stade's time of 14:29.02 bested the Montreat program record by 9.31 seconds while meeting the NAIA 'B' standard. It currently ranks fourth in the NAIA.
Ethan Stamey also competed in Raleigh, wrapping up his 5k in 15:03.38, good for 206
th.
All the Cavs' top-10 showings occurred at the Gotta Run Invite.
Jackson Mace-Maynard grabbed a runner-up result in the 800m. Thanks to a personal-best time of 1:55.50, the Newton, Iowa native placed second of 27 participants.
Cameron Rice also relied on a career-best performance to finish inside the top 10 of the 200m. Sprinting his way to sixth out of 37 competitors, Rice needed just 21.83 seconds to conclude the event.
The 110m hurdles also featured a personal best, as well as two Cavaliers who garnered top-10 nods.
Raymond English shaved five seconds off his previous attempt in the event, placing sixth of 12 with a time of 15.67 seconds.
Drew Bryant made his 110m hurdles debut and ran a 17.80-second race, good for 10
th.
Gabe Suddreth notched a ninth-place showing in the shot put over the weekend. Behind his top collegiate mark (11.21m), Suddreth concluded ninth of 16.

Montreat heads back down to the state of South Carolina next Friday and Saturday for the Electric City Invitational at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C.
