Cavaliers unveil indoor track & field schedules

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C.— The Montreat College men's and women's track & field teams unveiled their identical indoor track & field schedules for the upcoming 2026 season late last month. Not only are the Cavaliers slated to host a meet in early December, but also all but one of the Cavs' non-postseason events occurs in the state of North Carolina.

December delivers a brief sample of what the 2026 indoor track & field season entails. On the 4th, the Cavaliers host an indoor meet outdoors at Pulliam Stadium. The Montreat College Track & Field Exams serve as the opener to the indoor track & field campaign. However, the Cavs' first actual meet indoors comes just two days later on Dec. 6. The Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-off marks the first of four dates on which Montreat competes at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

After a month-long break for the Christmas season, the Cavaliers return to action for back-to-back weeks of competition. On Jan. 16-17, Montreat is in Mill Spring, N.C. for the Tryon Collegiate Opener. The Cavs also participate on the 17th at JDL Fast Track's Mondo College Invitational. Merely one week later, the Cavaliers leave the state and head to Lynchburg, Va. for the Liberty Open, a two-day meet hosted by Liberty University.

The initial three weeks of February alternate between meets at JDL Fast Track and Tryon International. On the 6th and 7th, the Cavs are in Winston-Salem at the Camel City Invitational. After a weekend at the Tryon Mid-Winter Collegiate Invite, Montreat returns to JDL for the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day event is scheduled for Feb. 20-21.

With strong marks throughout the year, the Cavaliers aim to qualify and send a plethora of student-athletes to the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Slated for March 5-7, this year's national meet is back at the Alachua County Sports & Event Center in Gainesville, Fla.
