KANSAS CITY, Mo.— According to a release from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Thursday afternoon, the Montreat College men's cross country team made its 35
th consecutive appearance inside the NAIA's Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25. After being slotted in at No. 19 and No. 16 through the initial two ratings, the Cavaliers remained steady in the latest edition, sitting 16
th overall.
Montreat corralled 232 points in the voting process this go-around, four more than 17
th-rated Rocky Mountain (Mont.) but 35 fewer than No. 15 Doane (Neb.).
While the Cavs haven't competed since the previous ratings were released on Sept. 25, they are coming off an impressive seventh-place showing out of 21 squads at the Queen City Invite. Running back on Sept. 12 in Charlotte, N.C., Montreat stole the show thanks in large part to
Ronald Way concluding 16
th of 236 finishers. Way's 24:55.8 time ultimately captured Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors just a few days later.
