KANSAS CITY, Mo.— For the fourth time this year and the 36
th consecutive instance overall, the Montreat College men's cross country team is nationally rated. According to a release from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on Thursday, the Cavaliers stand at No. 21 in the latest edition of the NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25.
Overall, the Cavs picked up 186 points in the voting process. Montreat totaled 44 points more than No. 22 Spring Arbor (Mich.) but 20 points fewer than 20
th-rated Dordt (Iowa).
Running once since the previous ratings were announced on Oct. 2, the Cavaliers tried to make the most of their lone opportunity. Back on Oct. 4, Montreat competed against a plethora of NCAA institutions at the Louisville Cross Country Classic. Participating in the 8k gold race, the Cavs ended 28
th out of 32 teams, besting four NCAA Division I programs in the process.
Individually,
Ronald Way placed 86
th out of 326 finishers thanks to his time of 25:12.9. His showing was impressive enough to garner Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week recognition for the second time this year.

Montreat continues its season on Oct. 24 with the NAIA Appalachian Challenge, hosted by Tennessee Wesleyan University, in Knoxville, Tenn.
