FORT WAYNE , Ind.— The Montreat women's wrestling team stayed in Fort Wayne, Ind. an extra day to wrestle in individual tournaments as part of the Warrior Open. The Cavs sent five competitors to the open tournament on Saturday.
At 180,
Audrey Gribble went 2-2 on the day. Gribble won her first bout by an 8-1 decision over a wrestler from Campbellsville University. She then lost her next two matches after a 10-0 tech fall and a pin. With the second loss, she advanced to the seventh-place match and won with a pin over Selene Jimenez of Manchester University.
Nicole Lewis wrestled at 160 in the open and finished her day with a 2-2 record as well. Lewis opened her day with an 8-3 decision loss to Purdue Wrestling Club's Emily Gervais. After the loss, Lewis marched back with two consecutive pins before ending her day being pinned by Haley Diaz of Indiana Tech.
The other three Cavaliers competing in the open were
Morgan Repasky,
Annastasia Skoda and
Uriah Peters-Gutierrez. All three finished 0-2 after no one could pick up a win in their bouts.

The Cavs will wrestle next in a dual against St. Andrews University on Feb. 6 in their last bouts before the Mid-South Conference Championships on Feb. 28 in Bowling Green, Ky.
