LYNCHBURG, Va.— Continuing its 2025 indoor slate, the Montreat men's track & field team spent Thursday through Saturday in Lynchburg, Va. at the Brant Tolsma Invitational, hosted by Liberty University. Competing against student-athletes across all divisions and levels, the Cavaliers' 23 entries managed to total eight top 25 finishes and five personal bests across nine events.
After not competing on day one, the Cavs ran twice on day two. In the 200m dash,
Cameron Rice placed 42
nd out of 79 runners thanks to his personal-best time of 22.99 seconds. Meanwhile,
Ethan Stamey notched an 11
th-place showing among a 52-runner field in the 3000m (8:35.44).
Stamey registered the top performance for Montreat on Saturday as well. Racing in the one mile, the Franklin, N.C. native ended third out of 45 competitors thanks to his career-best time of 4:16.30.
Ryan Stade (20
th; 4:29.14) and
Rene Tamez (22
nd; 4:31.89) also finished in the top 25, with Tamez's effort ending up a personal best as well.
Raymond English and
Drew Bryant bagged top 25 times in the 60m hurdles prelims. English's 9.05-second time proved to be 14
th-fastest, while Bryant recorded the 22
nd-quickest time at 11.64 seconds.
Bryant and Rice captured the Cavaliers' other two top 25 performances in the high jump and 60m prelims, respectively. A native of Candler, N.C., Bryant finished 16
th by clearing 1.71m. Meanwhile, Rice concluded 21
st of out 62 sprinters behind his time of 7.12 seconds.
Montreat's final two personal bests came from
Senor Glenn in the 800m (27
th; 2:07.25) and Bryant in the 400m (42
nd; 53.30 seconds).

Montreat is back in Virginia next Friday and Saturday when it heads to Roanoke College in Salem, Va. for the Bast-Cregger Invitational.
