FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.— The Montreat women's wrestling team sent a trio of athletes to the Robert Horton Open hosted by Emmanuel University in Georgia on Sunday. Overall, the three athletes combined for three victories during the tournament.

Trinity Howard claimed a 19-8 tech fall triumph over her first opponent in the 123-lb bracket. The Queen Creek, Ariz. native fell to the No. 5 ranked wrestler, but bounced back with a quick 10-0 consolation tech fall before ending her tournament with a 2-2 record.
Charlotte Wheeler picked up the other individual win with a 12-1 tech fall victory in her first round at 130. She finished with a 1-2 record following a loss in the ensuing round and a close 10-8 decision that went against her in the consolation bracket. A tough draw in the 155-lb bracket saw
Nicole Lewis drop a match against the 15
th-best wrestler at 170 prior to a consolation defeat.

Women's wrestling now travels to Fort Wayne, Ind. for the Warrior Duals hosted by Indiana Tech on Friday. Duals are expected to begin at 1 p.m.
