BLYTHEWOOD, S.C.— The Montreat men's golf team wrapped up its fall campaign with the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Fall Preview on Monday and Tuesday. Following three rounds of golf spread across the two days, the Cavs placed 12^th of 15 schools.
 
Round one saw the Cavaliers shoot a 316, the 12^th-best team result heading into Monday afternoon after four of the five athletes birdied multiple holes. On the first 18, reigning AAC Men's Golfer of the Week Atley Gabriel led the Cavs with a 74, good enough to tie for 10^th of 86 golfers. Alex Murphy shot just three strokes worse, recording a 77 (T-35^th) with a team-best three holes under par, while Jackson Tedder carded an 82 (T-66^th). Aaron Elmore registered an 83 (T-72^nd) to notch Montreat's final countable score of the initial round and Luca Rodrigues tallied an 84 (T-74^th).
 
The Cavaliers improved nine shots as a team in the latter round on Monday, ending with a 307. Elmore utilized four birdies to record a 75, eight strokes better than his first 18. Gabriel and Murphy each shot 76s, while Rodrigues added an 80. Montreat entered the final day of action in the 12^th position eight strokes back of St. Andrews and seven ahead of Union (Ky.) as Tedder carded an 85 in his second round.
 
On Tuesday, the Cavs used 308 shots to finish in the same spot as the first two rounds. Gabriel, who ended the tournament as the school's top golfer (T-19^th), notched a 76 with three birdies. Elmore propelled himself into 41^st place thanks to the best third round for the Cavaliers (75), while Murphy tied for 44^th after an 82 on his last 18. Like Gabriel, Rodrigues shot a 76 following a trio of holes under par to tie for 60^th. Tedder concluded knotted for 75^th position with a third-round 81.
 
Competing as individuals, Colton Clevenger and Britton Smith also participated in the tournament. Clevenger tied Gabriel through round one with a 74 before notching the same score in his second round to sit tied for 10^th individually with 18 holes to play. He ultimately finished in a tie for 44^th thanks to a third-round score of 87. Smith recorded an 82 to sit even with Tedder on his first 18, while shooting the lowest second round of any Cavalier (73) to improve to tied for 17^th with a round to go. In the end, he was knotted for 57^th after a final 18 score of 84.
