COLUMBIA, Mo. — According to an announcement from the MidwayUSA Foundation earlier this month, the Montreat College clay target shooting team is the latest recipient of one of the organization's cash grants. The grant is intended to assist programs and teams with annual expenses, such as ammo, targets, competition entry fees, travel, administrative fees and more.
 
"Our team is so grateful for MidwayUSA's commitment to youth and collegiate athletes and their pursuit of excellence in the clay target space," said head coach Hub Powell. "Brenda and Larry Potterfield are brilliant examples of how successful businesspeople can make a difference that will impact the future of clay target shooting sports, and we are very grateful for them."
 
Growing the MidwayUSA Foundation endowment is a crucial initiative for the future of youth shooting sports and local programs. The endowment relieves some of the burden off families that have youth interested in shooting sports. Every year, the Cavaliers are eligible to receive 5% of their endowment balance as a cash grant. Those interested in supporting their local youth shooting sports programs can make a tax-deductible donation to the MidwayUSA Foundation endowment. Team donations, specifically, will be matched by the Foundation's matching program. Every donation grows the annual cash grant.
 
Thanks to the generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, the MidwayUSA Foundation's operating expenses are covered, allowing 100% of donations to benefit local programs. The Montreat College clay target shooting team's endowment page can be found here.
