GREENWOOD, Ind. — The College Sports Communicators (CSC) shared their final list of Academic All-District® Team members on Tuesday, this time featuring cross country and track & field student-athletes. With four men and six women receiving the annual recognition, Montreat College accumulated 10 total spots on the CSC Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams.
On the men's side,
Cameron Rice,
Philip Riddle,
Hunter Smathers and
Ryan Stade met the necessary requirements to achieve Academic All-District® status. Meanwhile,
Emma Barnes,
Carlyn Bobo,
Heather Murphy,
Natalia Nieto,
Lydia Norman and
Macy Parks garnered the accolade on the women's side, matching the maximum number of six allotments.
In total, 481 NAIA student-athletes appeared on the CSC Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams.
To qualify for nomination, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA at the undergraduate and graduate levels, if applicable. Additionally, a student-athlete must rank inside the top 25 of a conference's individual event. Each institution could claim as many as six men's and six women's honorees.

Barnes, Murphy, Parks and Stade were also selected as CSC Academic All-America® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team finalists. They will now advance to the national ballot, which is voted on by CSC members. Academic All-America® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team members will be revealed on July 14-15.
The Montreat College men's and women's track & field/cross country teams are coming off a year in which both ranked top 10 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Program of the Year standings. Overall, the Cavalier men finished eighth, while the women ended ninth.
