GREENWOOD, Ind. — According to a release from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday, a total of 11 Montreat College Cavaliers captured Academic All-District® At-Large Team status for their athletic and academic efforts during 2025-26. On the men's side, the Cavs garnered five spots, while the women picked up the maximum number of six accolades.
Men's and women's wrestling proved responsible for four of the honorees, with
Robert Branson,
Dylan Hogan,
Nicole Lewis and
Morgan Repasky securing the annual recognition. Likewise,
Austin Lineberger,
Alex Murphy,
Abbey Coyle and
Hannah Stewart brought the men's and women's golf tally to four. Meanwhile, men's and women's lacrosse delivered a trio of award winners in
Garrett Thomson,
Ruthann Stout and
Grace Wiegand.
In total, 437 NAIA student-athletes landed on the CSC Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams.
To qualify for nomination, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Wrestlers and golfers must be in the lineup for at least 75 percent of team scoring events or compete in a conference championship meet or tournament. Additionally, lacrosse players must compete in at least 90 percent of an institution's games played or start in at least 66 percent of an institution's contests. Each school could claim as many as six men's and six women's honorees.

Wiegand was also selected as a CSC Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team finalist. She will now advance to the national ballot, which is voted on by CSC members. Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team members will be revealed on July 7.
The Montreat College men's and women's lacrosse teams went 6-10 (2-7 Appalachian Athletic Conference) and 4-9 (1-5 AAC), respectively, during their 2026 seasons. Meanwhile, men's wrestling notched a 4-4 (1-3 AAC) record, and women's wrestling achieved a 14-7 (3-5 Mid-South Conference) mark in 2025-26. Both men's and women's golf finished seventh at the AAC Direct Qualifier this past spring.
