NEW ORLEANS — According to a release from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday morning, the Montreat College men's track & field team reached a new season-high ranking in the organization's NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI). After climbing to No. 13 last week, the Cavaliers continued their upward momentum to No. 10 in the latest edition of the TFRI.
In total, the Cavs accrued 156.56 points, 0.17 points better than No. 11 Central Methodist (Mo.) and 11.52 points fewer than No. 9 Life (Ga.). Once again, Montreat is the best-rated Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) program in the TFRI, as well as the fourth-highest rated South Region squad.
As April winds to a close, the Cavaliers hold six top-10 performances across the NAIA.
Nathan Cremin possesses the nation's best 800m (1:46.45) and eighth-fastest 1500m (3:48.00) times, while
Ryan Stade owns the third-quickest 10k (29:46.86) and sixth-best 5000m (14:24.94) efforts. Meanwhile,
Brock Lauer (9:11.37) and
Hugo Petat-Hemono (9:11.70) hold the NAIA's fourth- and fifth-fastest 3000m steeplechase times, respectively.
