Men's Basketball WinWon All-AAC Teams and Awards Tuesday evening, and four Cavaliers garnered various conference recognition.
AJ Baskerville came home with four separate honors, including the title of Freshman of the Year.
Jarden Maze secured the lone First Team All-AAC nod for Montreat, marking his second such award as a Cav. The Sandersville, Ga. native ranked third in the league in points per game (19.9) and fourth overall in points scored (518). Maze also led the conference in free throws (152-197 FT), and he was ninth in defensive rebounds (127). The senior also grabbed 6.7 rebounds per game.
Along with his Freshman of the Year moniker, Baskerville also landed on the All-AAC Second Team, the AAC All-Defensive Team and the AAC All-Freshman Team. Averaging 14.7 PPG and 9.9 RPG, Baskerville bested all conference players in both offensive boards (98) and rebounds per contest. The Flight 22 Prep product scored the 15
th-most points in the AAC (396), and he notched the 17
th-most steals (34).
Ranked third in the league with 111 assists and tied for fourth with 4.0 assists per game,
RJ Manginello also found his way onto the All-AAC Second Team. The Houston, Texas native was a top-15 scorer in the conference (399 points) while shooting 49.3 percent, and he finished second in free-throw shooting percentage (88.6).
Lawrence Cole rounded out the on-court accolades for the Cavs with his AAC All-Freshman Team nod. Growing into his role as a freshman, Cole improved throughout the season. A native of Jersey City, N.J., Cole averaged 6.2 PPG on 47.2 percent shooting, and he corralled just over two rebounds per contest.
All awards were voted on and selected by the men's basketball coaches of the AAC.
Six Cavaliers achieved AAC All-Academic Team status.

Tyler Murray and
Mike Wade earned the recognition for their work inside the classroom. Manginello appeared on the AAC Champions of Character Team as Montreat's representative.
To qualify for the AAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must hold at least sophomore academic status and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Each institution in the league also received one spot on the AAC Champions of Character Team, and the recipients were chosen by each program's head coach.

Montreat enters the postseason portion of its schedule on Thursday with the quarterfinal round of the 2024-25 WinWon AAC Men's Basketball Tournament. The sixth-seeded Cavs take on the third-seeded Columbia International University Rams at 9:15 p.m. inside the Marriott MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
