KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The newest edition of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 delivered new heights for the Montreat College women's wrestling team. Not only did the Cavaliers accrue a program-best 23 points in the voting process, but a trio of Cavs also landed inside the top 20 of their respective individual weight classes.
Receiving votes for the second consecutive poll, Montreat picked up 23 points, the 24
th-most among institutions garnering national recognition. Westcliff (Calif.) hauled in five more points than the Cavaliers, while Waldorf (Iowa) tallied one point fewer.
Montreat's lone competition this season came on Nov. 2 at the ESU Open in East Stroudsburg, Pa. As a squad, the Cavs tied for 11
th out of 20 scoring teams thanks to a trio of wrestlers placing second, fifth and sixth during their tournament runs.
Individually,
Dinayah Vazquez stands tied for seventh in the 110-lb weight class. The Emmanuel University transfer accumulated 45 points in the voting process. Vazquez has yet to make her debut in a Montreat singlet.
A pair of Cavaliers appeared in the 180-lb weight class rankings. For the first time in their Montreat careers,
Audrey Gribble and
Shay Potter captured votes in the national poll. Gribble, who went 4-2 at the ESU Open on Sunday, corralled 17 points and the No. 16 spot. Meanwhile, Potter tied for 20
th with four points after her 2-2 showing at the ESU Open.

The Montreat College women's wrestling team returns to action this evening with a team dual at Emory & Henry University. Bouts are slated to start at 6 p.m. in Emory, Va.
