WALESKA, Ga.— The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced its 2025 AAC All-Academic Team and AAC Champions of Character Team selections on Thursday, just one day in advance of the league's championship meet. Thanks to their stellar work in the classroom, 10 Montreat College women's cross country student-athletes appeared on the annual awards list.

Elena Fibraio,
Heather Murphy,
Eliza Nelson,
Natalia Nieto,
Macy Parks,
Naomi Smith,
Ragan Speer and
Emily Standifer met the requirements to capture AAC All-Academic Team status. Meanwhile, Smith also garnered a spot on the AAC Champions of Character Team.
To qualify for the AAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must hold at least sophomore academic status while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Each institution in the league also received one spot on the AAC Champions of Character Team, and the recipients were chosen by each program's head coach.

The Montreat College women's cross country squad chases after a conference title and an automatic berth to nationals tomorrow at 9 a.m. in Knoxville, Tenn.
