Cavs receiving votes for third consecutive poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) unveiled its third edition of the NAIA Women's Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 this season, and for the third consecutive instance, the Montreat College Cavaliers were nationally recognized. Totaling 17 points overall, the Cavs once again landed among those receiving votes.

Montreat's 17 points were the 28th-most among squads appearing in the national release. The Cavaliers picked up one more point than Midland (Neb.) but three fewer points than Friends (Kan.), Lourdes (Ohio) and Waldorf (Iowa).

Since the previous ratings were released on Nov. 6, the Cavs have participated in a trio of competitions. Montreat grabbed a 38-10 team dual win at Emory & Henry University on Nov. 6 before placing 10 individuals at the Eagle Madness Open merely two days later. Last weekend, the Cavaliers went a perfect 6-0 at The Strong & Courageous Duals hosted by Liberty University.

Dinayah Vazquez continued her run in the top 10 of the 110-lb weight class. Making her Montreat debut last week at Liberty, the Emmanuel University transfer went 2-0 with a pair of pins in 2:02 and 1:49. Vazquez tied for ninth overall after garnering 40 total points in the national voting process.

Audrey Gribble landed in the 180-lb weight class rankings for the second consecutive poll, this time appearing at No. 20. A native of South Jordan, Utah, Gribble notched 12 points during the vote. So far this season, Gribble owns an 8-4 record across 12 total bouts.

While she wasn't in the rankings two weeks ago, Morgan Repasky returned to the national poll in a tie for 20th. The sophomore and two other 103-lb wrestlers, one from Missouri Valley College and another from Waldorf University, tallied three points overall. Repasky currently ranks second on the Cavs with 11 wins, and she holds a .733 winning percentage, third-highest on the squad among those who've participated on multiple weekends.
