MONTGOMERY, Ala.— The Montreat men's wrestling team was back in action at Huntingdon College on Saturday for the Hawk Classic Open in Montgomery, Ala. With a roster of seven Cavaliers competing in five different weight classes, Montreat snagged a 13
th-place team finish out of 15 scoring squads.
All six of the Cavs' wins on Saturday came in the 165-lb weight class.
Dylan Hogan achieved the best result among Montreat's wrestlers with a fourth-place showing. The Bushkill, Pa. native began his tournament with a pin in 107 seconds. Following a quarterfinal defeat, Hogan racked up three straight wins, two of which were pins. Hogan ultimately concluded fourth at 165 after he was defeated in the third-place bout.
Meanwhile,
Caleb Johnson-White went 3-2 on the day. The junior also kicked off his performance with a fall, this time in 60 seconds. Johnson-White won his quarterfinal clash as well, topping his foe with a 10-5 decision. The Hickory, N.C. native then suffered consecutive defeats before winning his fifth-place match with a 9-6 decision.

Montreat returns to the mat on Jan. 15 when it hosts Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) foe Truett McConnell University at Bandys High School in Catawba, N.C.
