MONTREAT, N.C.— The Montreat College Athletics Department announced this week that athletics competitions will once again be held inside McAlister Gymnasium; however, due to ongoing construction in and around the facility, in-person attendance for spectators at those events will not be open to the general public.
On Thursday, Oct. 23, the Montreat College men's basketball team welcomes Bob Jones University to McAlister Gymnasium. Meanwhile, the Montreat College women's basketball team hosts Carolina University inside McAlister on Saturday, Nov. 8. On the wrestling front, the men's squad welcomes Keiser University to McAlister Gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 9. Meanwhile, the Montreat College women's wrestling team hosts Brewton-Parker Christian University on Thursday, Feb. 5.
Due to active construction and the ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene, McAlister Gymnasium currently has occupancy limits that are met by team personnel, officials, game staff, etc. As a result, events inside McAlister Gymnasium during the 2025-26 academic year are not open to the general public, unless otherwise specified.
Montreat College's athletic communications staff will strive to provide a live stats feed and a live video feed for all home varsity contests inside McAlister Gymnasium. The department will also aim to stream all junior varsity athletics events inside McAlister, schedules permitting.
The Montreat College Athletics Department intends to air live streams inside Howerton Dining Hall on days in which McAlister Gymnasium plays host to an event. Fans who wish to congregate and cheer on the Cavaliers as a community are encouraged to attend.
Due to additional factors, the remainder of this year's Montreat College volleyball home schedule will be played at Asheville Christian Academy in Swannanoa, N.C. The general public is welcomed and encouraged to attend Cavs' volleyball matches at ACA free of charge.
