BROOKINGS, S.D.— On the first day of the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, the Montreat men's and women's track & field teams had three entrants take to the track Thursday afternoon.
To kick off the action for Montreat,
Caleb Wright and
Ethan Stamey both ran in the men's 5000m prelims. Wright ended 24
th of 33 finishers with his time of 15:12.37, while Stamey was one of three athletes to not complete the race.
The group of
Emily Standifer,
Mahaley Cronk,
Yessenia Castellanos and
Kilia Hasty then concluded the events for the Cavs by running the women's 4x800m relay prelims. Concluding with a time of 9:45.02, the Cavaliers recorded the 21
st-fastest result of 25 squads.

The Cavaliers are slated to participate in four additional prelims and at least one final tomorrow, beginning with the 1000m prelims at 4:15 p.m.
