MONTREAT, N.C.— Following a fall season that featured a combination of match play and tournament action, the Montreat men's and women's golf teams are looking forward to a fun slate of golf this upcoming spring.
The men's golf program gets the spring season underway with a competition hosted by Bob Jones University on Feb. 16. Exactly one week after the action concludes at Legacy Pines Golf Course in Greenville, S.C., both the Montreat men's and women's golf teams enjoy play in the Apple Mountain Invitational at Apple Mountain Golf Club in Clarksville, Ga.
Tournament play continues for the Cavaliers on Feb. 27-28 as the men's golf team battles in the Showdown at Legends. The Lindsey Wilson College-hosted tournament takes place at the Legends Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Meanwhile, Spartanburg Methodist College comes to Black Mountain, N.C. as the Montreat women's golf team hosts the Pioneers for match play in early March.
Both the Montreat men's and women's golf teams end the 2023 spring season with the Deercroft Spring Invitational and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Direct Qualifier. The Deercroft Spring Invitational, hosted by St. Andrews University, is set for March 27-28 at Deercroft Golf Club in Wagram, N.C. The AAC Direct Qualifier, however, is scheduled on different dates and at different courses for the men and women. While the men's AAC Direct Qualifier falls on April 24-25 at Cross Creek Plantation in Seneca, S.C., the women's tournament is slated for May 1-2
