In August of 2021, Brittany Carpenter was hired as the assistant volleyball coach for Montreat College Athletics. Carpenter was then promoted to interim head coach in April of 2022 before being named the head volleyball coach in November of the same year. The 2023 campaign marked her second season at the helm of the program.

2023
- Tallied four straight victories from 9/22 to 9/29.
- Won six of last seven matches, including five consecutive to end the regular season.
- Defeated Reinhardt for the first time since 2016 (3-1 on 10/31).
- Finished season with a 15-11Â (10-10Â AAC) record.
- Claimed the No. 9 seed in the AAC Tournament after tying for eighth place.
- Collected first winning season since 2013.
- Recorded first postseason victory since 2012 with a 3-set sweep of No. 8 seed Pikeville on 11/9.
- Athlete achievements: 2 Second Team All-AAC, 2 AAC Attacker of the Week awards, 1 CSC Academic All-District® Team honoree, 5 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 4 AAC All-Academic Team members.
2022
- Notched first win of coaching career on 8/30 against Carolina University (3-0).
- Completed comeback over Bluefield by winning final three sets on 10/4.
- Finished season with a 9-22 (8-13 AAC) record.
- Athlete achievements: 1 Second Team All-AAC, 1 AAC Attacker of the Week, 2 CSC Academic All-District® Team honorees, 4 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 6 AAC All-Academic Team members.
PRIOR TO MONTREAT
Under her assistance, the Cavaliers collected 12 wins and made the first round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament in 2021. One athlete earned All-Freshman Team recognition at the conference level, while eight were named to the All-Academic Team.
Carpenter came to Montreat following time spent at William Peace University. While working toward her bachelor’s degree, Carpenter played for the Pacers as a setter both her junior and senior seasons. In her last season at WPU, the Concord, N.C. native registered 526 assists and 171 digs in 16 matches, helping her team to a 14-2 record.
Prior to her time at William Peace, Carpenter attended Winston-Salem State University, a member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). Over her two seasons with the Rams, Carpenter collected numerous awards, including a spot on the CIAA All-Rookie Team. Carpenter added a pair of CIAA Rookie of the Week awards her freshman year, while notching her 1,000
th career assist in her sophomore season. The Rams went on to win the CIAA Conference Tournament with Carpenter as a setter.
