Kathy Marlowe joins Montreat College for her first year as the women's basketball assistant and JV coach. Kathy comes to Montreat possessing 24 years of coaching experience.  

She most recently coached at A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville, North Carolina where she served as the varsity head coach from 2006-2010. As head coach at Reynolds, Marlowe comprised winning records all four years, won the 2010 MAC Conference Championship, was named the 2010 MAC Conference Coach of the year, and coached multiple players who earned college basketball scholarships.  

Before becoming the varsity head coach, she acted as the assistant varsity basketball coach from 1986 to 2000 and again from 2002 to 2005. During this time, the Lady Rockets won multiple MAC conference championships and two state championships in 1990 and 2000. Previous to her role as the Varsity assistant Kathy coached at various levels. As the Junior Varsity head women's basketball coach from 1998-2000, her team went undefeated with a 21-0 record for the first time in the school's basketball history.  She also coached at Cane Creek Middle School and A.C. Reynolds Middle school where she comprised winning records and one conference championship in 1986.

Coach Marlowe has taught high school students for twenty four years and currently works as a health and PE teacher at A.C. Reynolds High School. She works numerous basketball camps including Crossfire, UNC-Chapel Hill, North Carolina State, and Clemson. She is the faculty sponsor for Sports Outreach, which was formerly known as FCA at Reynolds and has participated in mission work in the United States and internationally.

Marlowe graduated with an Associate degree in Arts from Brevard College where she was point guard on the women's basketball team. She then earned her Bachelor of Science from Mars Hill College and her Masters in Health Promotion from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
