GAINESVILLE, Fla.— The Montreat College men's and women's track & field teams continued competition on Friday at day two of the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships in Gainesville, Fla. The Cavaliers had two events on the schedule, with two athletes competing in the men's and women's 1000m.
Macy Parks opened the day for the Cavs in the women's 1000m prelims, turning in a strong performance with a time of 2:59.44, finishing just under half a second shy of her personal best. The Denver, N.C. native placed sixth out of seven runners in her heat and finished 17th overall among the 20 competitors in the event. Despite her solid time, Parks did not qualify for tomorrow's 1000m final.
Nathan Cremin followed with the men's 1000m prelims, competing in the first heat of the event. The Limerick, Ireland native clocked a 2:25.53, winning his heat and securing a spot in the 1000m final tomorrow afternoon. Cremin's performance ranked second overall among the 20 competitors, finishing just a half-second behind an athlete from Indiana Wesleyan University who competed in the second heat.

The Cavaliers return to action tomorrow for the third and final day of the 2026 NAIA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships. Montreat has athletes set to compete in five event finals on Saturday afternoon. The slate includes the men's 1000m at 2:45 p.m., the men's 3000m at 3:15 p.m., the women's 5000m at 3:55 p.m., the men's 5000m at 4:20 p.m. and the men's distance medley relay at 5 p.m.
