BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. — The Montreat College men's and women's track & field teams publicly shared their 2026 outdoor track & field schedules last month. With both the men and the women lining up identical slates, the Cavaliers anticipate competing at a total of 10 meets prior to the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in late May.
Montreat begins its outdoor campaign in a familiar setting. The Cavs host the Montreat College Open on March 20-21 at Pulliam Stadium in Black Mountain, N.C. From there, the Cavaliers split up to finish out the month of March. Some student-athletes will head to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays, while others will travel to Tennessee for the King University Invitational.
A busy April features two additional split-squad weekends. Easter weekend sees the Cavs head to both the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point University and the Tornado Classic at Brevard College. Meanwhile, Montreat remains in the state of North Carolina on April 10-11 for the Southside Power & Fitness Invitational and the Asheville Bulldog Invite.
The Wake Forest Invitational serves as the precursor to the Cavaliers hosting the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on April 23-25. All three days of the league meet take place at Pulliam Stadium.
Montreat aims to clinch a few additional spots at nationals on May 9 during the Lee University Last Chance meet. From there, select qualifiers represent the Cavs in Asheville, N.C. at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This year's national meet occurs at Karl Straus Track on the campus of UNC Asheville.
