Amayia Hernandez RBI increased the edge to 5-0 through one-and-a-half innings.
UC thought it flipped momentum in its favor following a six-run bottom of the second; however, the Bulldogs' only lead of the day proved to be short-lived.
The Cavaliers scored 10 runs before recording an out in the top of the third.
Amayia Hernandez launched a grand slam and a three-run homer, personally driving in half of Montreat's 14 runs during the inning. Twelve of the visitors' 18 knocks came throughout the third frame.
