WALESKA, Ga.— Ahead of tomorrow's Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Cross Country Championships, the league office announced its annual men's cross country academic and character honorees late Thursday morning. In total, seven Montreat College men's cross country student-athletes garnered the recognition for their work in the classroom.
Mark Blalock,
Brock Lauer,
Jackson Mace-Maynard,
Philip Riddle,
Hunter Smathers,
Ryan Stade and
Ronald Way landed on the AAC All-Academic Team. Lauer also picked up an AAC Champions of Character Team nod.
To qualify for the AAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must hold at least sophomore academic status while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Each institution in the league also received one spot on the AAC Champions of Character Team, and the recipients were chosen by each program's head coach.
