KANSAS CITY, Mo.— Appearing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 for the 37
th consecutive instance, the Montreat College men's cross country team moved to No. 23 in the latest edition of the ratings.
According to the Thursday afternoon release from the national office, the Cavaliers totaled 153 points in the voting process. Overall, Montreat tallied 24 points more than 24
th-rated St. Francis (Ill.) but eight points fewer than No. 22 Cornerstone (Mich.).
The Cavs most recently competed on Oct. 24 at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in Knoxville, Tenn. Running an 8k at Sequoyah Park, Montreat secured a fourth-place finish among the 20 squads participating. The only three programs who finished ahead of the Cavaliers are rated No. 3, No. 8 and No. 17 in the newest national poll.
Individually,
Ryan Stade led Montreat across the finish line with a near personal-best time. The Marysville, Kan. native concluded ninth out of 209 finishers thanks to his 24:39.88 effort.
