Soccer falls to Tennessee Wesleyan

Athens, Tenn. – Women's and men's soccer fell to the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs Saturday afternoon in Appalachian Athletic Conference matchups. The women are currently at 4-6-3 (3-5-2 AAC) with two games left in the regular season. The men also have two regular-season games left, as they sit at 5-7-3 (2-5-2 AAC).

In the women's 5-0 deficit, goalkeeper Payton Landy was able to make 15 saves before Alex Heck took over the net. Kristina Garren and Teigan Eicher combined for three shots on the night.

On the men's side, Melle Rekvelt scored on an assist from Orlando Gildo in the 26th minute to cut Tennessee Wesleyan's lead in half. Andre Dinca netted Montreat's second goal of the night unassisted midway through the second half, but the Cavs fell 6-2. Goalkeeper Kevin Gonzalez made a trio of saves, and Daniel dos Santos contributed a shot.

Up Next: Both squads travel to St. Andrews to take on the Knights Wednesday, Oct. 24. The women kick off at 1:30 p.m. ET and the men at 3:45 p.m. ET.
