Montreat College Athletics announced the hiring of Jamie Moore as head coach for the women’s basketball program in July of 2024. She enters her second season with the program in 2025-26.

YEAR-BY-YEAR HIGHLIGHTS

2024-25
  • Picked up her first collegiate head coaching win on Nov. 9 versus Salem (W 86-50).
  • Coached Rymiah Sanders to a career-high 40-point performance versus Kentucky Christian (11/16).
  • Captured the program's first win at Bluefield since 2012.
  • Coached Virginia Edmondson to her 1,000th point as a Cavalier at Columbia (1/15).
  • Secured the program's first win versus Bryan since 2017.
  • Finished the year at 17-12 (14-8 AAC) and ended fifth in the conference standings.
  • Clinched the No. 5 seed in the WinWon AAC Tournament, the program's best seeding since the 2013-14 season.
  • Program named the AAC Women's Team of Character.
  • Athlete achievements: 1 AAC Defensive Player of the Year, 1 First Team All-AAC, 1 Second Team All-AAC, 1 AAC All-Defensive Team, 1 AAC All-Freshman Team, 4 AAC Defensive Player of the Week, 4 AAC Offensive Player of the Week, 1 CSC Academic All-District® Team honoree, 6 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, 8 AAC All-Academic Team members.

PRIOR TO MONTREAT

Moore spent time at five different girls high school programs in the state of Texas, most recently Italy High School for the 2021-22 school year. The Italy, Texas native also led teams at Crane High School, New Braunfels High School, Seguin High School and Clifton High School since 2016-17. During the 2020-21 season at Crane, Moore tallied a 19-8 (9-1) record, helping the team to a district championship and picking up District 5-AAA Coach of the Year honors.

Before stints at high schools in her home state, Moore acted as a physical education teacher, volleyball coach and basketball coach at Antilles School on the island of St. Thomas, part of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Prior to her coaching career, Moore was a graduate assistant at NCAA Division I Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Islanders secured winning seasons in 2013-14 and 2014-15, while Moore worked under Royce Chadwick, who was Southland Conference Coach of the Year for 2013-14.

Moore played on the women’s basketball team at Southwestern Assemblies of God University for the 2006-07 season and graduated from Texas State with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2011 before earning her masters in exercise physiology from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2016. She and her husband, Justin, have two children, Braxton and Finley.
